The value of life

This week i was part of a discussion images… I told on my Facebook page how much I disliked Dutch attitude… How wrong i think Dutch government is.. How i never felt home In Holland…I call it even Horrorland…

It is  no secret that i think of Israel the opposite, but an (ex)Dutch woman that made aliya said i was  not normal to idealize Israel so much. She said the living conditions in Israel are too hard, for example, when you become sick or old nobody covers your back… She told me in Holland it is much better, you always get money.. the government backs you…

Well people that know me and my history, will know that i traveled a lot, that i lived with my parents in Germany, in Syria, in Israel…I also know if you live abroad, all the things you dislike from Holland seem to be forgotten ( this is not fitting on me btw)

But.. maybe i can point it out… In Holland we have an attitude.. you hear people often  say: “please act normal” if you are a bit different, they tell you….”You are crazy enough from yourself”. Don’t you dare to be different.  When i was young,  i knew more about society as many other kids, obviously this was because of the fact i moved a lot and had seen so much more… This was not accepted… not by kids.. not by teachers or adults.. This attitude makes that in Holland people will not tell out loud their opinion.. although it maybe looks like it.. but it is not true. Always afraid to be different then the rest. People run like sheeps  behind each others.. it makes people more cowards, more narrow-minded. If you are a more outspoken person.. you stand alone…

More culture in Holland..emotions can not be shown on the streets, please don’t come uninvited because we have no food. One cookie with the coffee is more than enough.. cold.. emotionless. Besides this… the weather is most of the time, cold, grey and rainy…. everything is flat… no beautiful views except of water and grass.. no diversity in nature…

Also we are very spoiled..we don’t know (yet) immediate danger, there are almost no people left that experienced war.. we live in “ peace”..Human nature is not peaceful so automatically other things will be used to argue with eachother..minor unimportant questions but still they poison atmosphere.

Israel, where the life is so hard… where you have almost no weekend, where a lot of people work 6 days a week… that sounds no good… But in Israel i feel people celebrating life… I see people being themselves.. they do not care what the neighbours think of them.. they sing and play guitar on the beach without audience.. just because they want to do it.. they cherish freedom.. because they know how precious Freedom is.. . besides that… The beautiful nature.. the beautiful  happy, intelligent populations… the most compassionated population if you ask me.. the most moral army.. the most people are so proud of their country.. what they achieved with blood, sweat and tears… that you can feel in every  centimeter of the country….

Am i idealizing  Israel?  For the outside world.. yes of course, i see it as my duty to show the most beautiful part of Israel to the world..because..well there is enough dirt spread by Anti Israel groups and politicians all over the world.. But yes i see things that are not right.. i see Jewish population paying a lot of tax, while arabs pay a little. I see arabs working.. for Jews it is harder to get a job.. i see some very disturbing things in the legal system..( but that is also the case  in Holland) ..and there is more..but…What is more important in life?  Happiness  and freedom… and open mind thinking…

Where do i feel this??  Only in Israel…

I  rest my case…

About The other side Is Real

My name is Sabine Sterk and since I was very young I was a fanatic Israeli supporter. My father worked for the UNTSO and was sent to the Middle East when I was 12 years old. I lived in Syria and Israel and saw from a young age the difference between the cultures… When I returned to the Netherlands I noticed that the Anti Israel sentiment was increasing and I started to fight this. I admire Israel for all the good things that are achieved in the country. I am not religious and my motto is: Israel has the right to exist and Israel has the right to defend herself. As long as I live I will stand up for Israel and speak out on behalf of her. My ultimate dream is to find work in Israel or for Israel… I still hope to Fulfill that dream anytime soon… There is nothing I want more. I am passionate, a true Zionist supporter, enthusiastic, impulsive, impatient, honest but always try to live the best I can.
